Three young people arrested who wanted to carry out a jihadist-inspired attack against political figures and also newspapers in the country.
With the arrest of three young people in Antwerp, the Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office has dismantled a terrorist cell that was planning attacks against Belgian politicians and newspapers. Among his targets was Prime Minister Bart de Wever.
“There are indications that the intention was to carry out a jihadist-inspired terrorist attack against politicians,” he said in a statement.
