#2 | Pick a time to travel to Ketchikan.
Most area tour operators, restaurants and tourist attractions are only open seasonally from late spring through early fall. That means we suggest planning your visit between May and September. May through early June provides visitors a great time to explore before peak season crowds arrive in June/July (and usually save some money with early-season specials!) Late summer is fantastic for bear viewing (and if you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis)
If fishing is the top of your list, there’s sure to be a fish on your hook whenever you visit.
Only a 90-minute flight from Seattle and many direct flights daily during the summer, getting here is easy. Now, will you visit for a weekend or a week?
#3 | Consider what type of experience you’re looking for.
From quiet remote lodges to boutique properties close to the hustle-bustle of the city center, Ketchikan has something for everyone. All-inclusive packages where all the details are sorted and ready for you to relax, or if you prefer to explore on your own, this is your opportunity to plan the vacation you’ve dreamed of.
